Research Sheds New Light on Industrial Mining

A widespread review of current surface mining techniques has been sparked by recently published research.

Wreaken Mining’s Chief Geologist, Dr. Ben Curtis, has written an essay suggesting that existing refinery methods inadvertently destroy valuable mineral resources due to their large-scale inefficiencies.

“Typically, laser mining and refinery processes are extremely unrefined,” commented Dr. Curtis in a press interview.

“As a result of my extensive research, I discovered that by introducing a modulating wave form and beam focus into a tighter laser housing, it allowed us to mine planetary surfaces and yield previously unobtainable resources.”

Studying an advance copy of the research given to Vox Galactica, freelance journalist Adalyn Cross noted that Wreaken Mining were currently manufacturing new deployable laser drills and refinery modules with the proposed technologies to facilitate the extraction of various materials from most types of planetary bodies.

“The research also suggests that by modifying the available Detailed Surface Scanner, new planetary mining locations can be detected from orbit. My contacts from conglomerates and independent miners have suggested that this could be the start of a new surface mining boom.”
